What's the purpose of tippet? Do you always use a tippet on the end of your tapered leader to extend the life of the leader, or does the tippet only come into play after the tapered leader has lost some length due to flies being cut off and retied?
Another good video from Reds. These guys know fishing. Also very enjoyable to watch. Keep it up and thanks from Scotland, Great Britain
i am going to get one and i cant wate
Is a 4 wt of for brook trout from 8 to 18 inches and possibly 1-2 pounders ok? And it's really small creek so probably 7.5 ft rod but I will have to sacrifice distance then on the bigger rivers right?
Is your line ruined if the tappered line brakes off?
What size is the fly reel in your video –
is 5/8 rod be good for pike and big rainbow trout and big brown trout…….?
I will be getting into fly fishing. I will be fishing for bass primarily and occasionally for red fish on flats. Would an 8 weight be a good choice to use to cover both species? What would you all suggest?
Thanks for sharing man!
I beginner in fly fishing but i wanna ask questions:
1) Can fly fishing be done from a shore, or it's better from a boat?
2) Why don't w add lure or sinker to the line? and is it possible?
Regards,
I fly fish and I'm 11 I just bought a new fly rod
Man it's so awesome that you are in Yakima because I live in Zillah and although I just moved here I am looking to start building my own fly fishing gear locker. I have never been fly fishing before so this is all new to me but now that I know that you are really close to where I live I will come to your shop and start building my fly fishing gear stash.
Thanks for giving us UL guys a nod. The TXL/TXL-F in 0,1,& 2wt. are the best fly rod ever.
Would a 9' 5 Wt be ok for a mix of trout and small-medium size bass?
Wait, you're saying a medium action is more limber than a fast action?? It's reverse of how none-fly-rods are?
So 5wt means 5 pounds
A half ton pickup of fly rods😂😂
Very great video, told me everything I needed to know
Awesome video. Thank you
for my first ever fly rod… i went with the method lol…
what type of rod do I med for atlantic salmon ? Is the 9w 9' any good
Forgot tippet!
Great video …very informative …much appreciated
I’d love to have this service in a UK fly fishing emporium, instead of the snotty elitist shit service like Orvis shops. I’d love to visit your shop someday
Oh…..I know I could ‘Google’ this…but what the hell is a steelhead?
What style of fly fishing rod do I need for surf fishing?
Help im after a fly rod thats easy and light to cast as my last cheap on was to heavy i thought hard work .ill be fishing bank and boat resoviors .
This is very good; pleasant man too.
Good video.
I want to get into fly fishing. What rod would be reasonable for trout fishing? i want to really fish rivers and creeks.
I’ve been using a 5wt rod for some time now with success. The wife bought me a 4 wt bamboo rod a few years back that I’ve been using the same 5wt line on. I feel like I should now move to a 4wt reel/line for the bamboo and possibly replace my 5wt with a 6wt setup for larger trout. Thoughts?
Great video thanks I'm just getting started in fly fishing and I'm trying to learn as much as I can oh and I'm 60
I don't like a lot of videos but this was excellent
Thank you. I'm going fly fishing for trout this weekend. I can use what I've just learned!
I think you forgot the backing line…
"in 2020, this list helped me decide for the best fly fishing rod scafe.shop/tbffr2020?IC hope it helps you out too!"
well experienced in different weights allabout.wiki/d6jl Now I'm a beginner to fly fishing, but I've owned dozens of spinning and baitcasting rods over the years, and I can tell this is a pretty good deal. After practicing a few days in a big open backyard to get the proper timing and arm action, I felt I was ready for the water. That next Saturday morning- success on the 3rd cast!!. Long story short- after a late summer and fall season using this rod (and reel) on about every weekend, I'm very happy with the purchase and can't wait for the ice to melt and get out there again with it. If I were to break it or lose it, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat..
Where did you get that belt it’s coll
Where I fish I can catch anything from brown trout to steelhead to king salmon in the same river it’s very nice
Sure wish this fly shop was close to me.
