Majestic Major Task – Part # 1 – The Intro. This Radio Controlled Design Airplane is integrated in the design of a Vintage Design. It is really basic, with Rudder & Elevator control. I am going to enhance It by fitting an old OS FS-60 4 Stroke Glowplug Engine.

I prefer the Saito knucklehead style motors( especially the black and gold version), but this one is beautiful, and going to be a great model!Do you have a transmitter you plan to use? I'll bug a friend who had some vintage radio gear if you like.
Sweet!!
Thank god a real engine, thanks Keith. 🙂
👍👍👍💯💯💯
2:44 You and me both, brotha. And I definitely dig the idea of putting a 4-stroke on this thing; I would too!The only other modification I think I'd make is fitting ailerons to the wings. I like to be able to fly inverted too much to be happy with just rudder and elevator.
6:30 I can't wait to hear and see that magnificent OS FS-60 thumping away on the stand. And then again on the aircraft! Need to get me one of them as well, find a suitable plane to fly it on. MAybe a SIG Astro Hog, given my preferences for aerobatic shenanigans? Should have enough poke for a 40-size sport plane.
Gotta love the smell of glow fuel. Model Diesel fuel smells good to… The sound of a model airplane engine is what makes it for me. The downside is the cleanup after running and flying. I just take it as part of the hobby. A couple years ago I had all my model airplanes and engines stolen from my storage unit. It taking me a bit to get back into it but I've started. It's good to see others who are interested in the old models. Thanks for the great video and keep them coming.
Very cool Keith, I started flying RC back in 1974 and have been at it all these years later. Been flying electrics the passed few years as it is easier on these old bones. But I still fly gas now and again. I will be watching for this plane to fly. Best of luck to you.
Ahhh, ben Buckle old timers are unbeatable. Thanks for sharing (I'm in the rc plane hobby since 1974, so I guess I am an old timer).
Thank god not a foamy but a real one
This looks like a lovely model plane.. I can hear the complaints now about that's not a steam engine or anything to do with steam… hahahaha…
This will be very interesting Keith, looking forward to the series. Thanks for sharing. Regards from Wales
Are you planning on getting her airborne?
you are full of surprises keep it up (can a this model plane have more than 2 blade prop and what would that do for performance?)
Thanks for sharing! If memory serves me correct, the OS Max 60 had the option to pressurize the fuel tank. Are you going to install that option?
Should fly very nicely with the OS installed – I built this kit earlier this year with a vintage Skylark petrol engine installed.
Of course you could combine things and use a steam engine to power the airplane. Then again, there is a small problem: It won't work. I just wonder if it would be possible, but I think not. Maybe you could find out if it has been done and educate us. Seeing how I've never seen a steam powered airplane (model or real life), I have doubts. Of course there is always a first time. Something to think about and file under “What were you thinking about, are you daft!”. Best of luck with the engine you have.
I think this channel will shortly take off.
Oversize wheels? Maybe, but have you seen the size they use in the bush planes in Northern Canada and Alaska? I also like them big
